Bay River Experience
Welcome to the beautiful Bay River located in Southeastern North Carolina. Great fishing, great weather and a great place to spend some time to relax. Located 20 minutes North of Oriental, there are many options for lodging, dining, etc. while you are here. I hope to see many of my regular customers and look forward to welcoming new ones along the way. On these trips we will be catching Red Drum, Spotted Seatrout (aka Speckled Trout), Striped Bass, Black Drum, Flounder and more. A few things to know about the trip:
- Each angler 16 years and older will be required to have a CRFL (Coastal fishing license). Online purchase available here.
- The trip price includes 1 to 3 anglers. (Old Drum Charter option includes 4 people)
- Meeting place will be determined during the booking confirmation process.
- I will provide all fishing equipment and necessary life jackets.
- You can bring anything you like to eat and/or drink on the boat. This includes alcoholic beverages. If someone appears intoxicated to the point I feel it is a safety issue, we will return to the dock. There is plenty of room for coolers, bags, etc.... I normally have bottled water on the boat for your convenience as well.
- Check the weather before your trip. You are responsible for rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen or anything else to keep you comfortable on the boat. I fish in the rain but not in, around, or anywhere close to lightning.
- If weather appears to be an issue, I will contact you a day or two before the trip.
- It is not unusual to not hear from me after the initial confirmation. This is due to the fact that I am very busy and never late for a trip. You may contact me however, to confirm closer to our trip.
- If you are going to keep to fish to take home, bring a cooler with ice with you and leave it in your vehicle. We will transfer the fish after the trip is over. I DO offer a fishing cleaning service.
- I do not require a deposit. Please let me know ASAP if plans change so that I can re-book the date. I will touch base soon to go over the details of the trip with you. If there is an impending weather issue I will let you know ASAP. If you no show, I require a payment of $500.00 before the next time you want to fish with me. This is to cover the missed trip (my minimum fee). Without that, there will be no more access to my boat.
- When you book a trip, the time that you reserved is what is expected when payment is due. For example, you book a 4 hour trip and at or around the 3 hour mark you say "we caught enough fish" or someone on the boat is cold/hot and wants to go in, or any other non emergency.....FULL PAYMENT (in this case $500) is expected. I plan and budget way in advance and do NOT offer on the water discounts. If you are not sure in any way....BOOK THE FOUR HOUR TRIP! My pricing includes UP TO the pre determined end of the trip.
- Payment is due at the end of the trip and can be made as follows (in order of preference): cash, digital (Venmo, Cash App, Paypal, Zelle, etc.) check, credit card. ***Tipping policy*** The standard practice is 10%-20% of the trip. Gratuities are NOT expected or required, but always appreciated.
- The trip will end on time even if you have not made it to the meeting location by the agreed upon start time (barring an unexpected issue), so plan ahead to make sure you get there. My schedule is always tight and usually does not allow me to stay later.
